New York State of Mind [VIDEO]

SOLD Magazine was on scene while John "CRASH" Matos (@Crashone) and Nick Walker (@nickwalker_art) painted their newest wall, "New York State Of Mind". The wall space, located at 102 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side, was provided by ST.ART (@st_artnow), a New York City based company that connects businesses and individuals with high quality urban artists.

CRASH, a graffiti pioneer from the train era of New York City, brought vibrant lettering and effects to the wall--while Nick Walker, a graffiti artist originally from London who was on the forefront a pro-generators of the stencil movement dating back to the 1980's, used his black and white stenciling to depict his "Vandal" character as wrestling with addiction. The story and meaning of this collaboration was to convey the addiction that many people have for the New York lifestyle.

While one of the more compelling and addicting aspects to the New York lifestyle is the rush from the fast-paced tempo; we encourage you to take a moment to observe the work and reflect on the beauty that art brings to the city.

Video was captured and edited by Tim Zeko.
