Sold Magazine contributor and New York art curator, Claudia Reyes, sat down with the legendary artist Sen2 Figueroa in his Bronx studio. He shares how his artistic style evolved from painting to graffiti to pop art and talks about his latest work. Check out the video below:
Sen2 grew up painting in Puerto Rico. Then during the late eighties on summer visits to New York, he fell in love with the city's gritty graffiti culture. He returned to Puerto Rico inspired and tried his hand at graffiti developing his own style. But he was not done exploring artistic genres. Sen2 shares his journey also includes being influenced by pop artists such as Andy Warhol.
His latest work encompasses various artistic styles and techniques displayed on canvasses he refers to as "Sopa" or soup for all the ingredients that come together in making this dish. His styles come together beautifully.
Check out his upcoming solo show "Obsession" at Galerie Zimmerling & Jungfleisch in Saarbrücken, Germany. Sen2's next goal is creating a mural in Spain and visiting other European countries.
