NEW YORK, NY: AFA Gallery is pleased to announce the Pop Tarts Exhibition. Pop Tarts is a collective exploration into the "masks" worn in the face adversity and negativity. Using different mediums, Colin Christian, Sas Christian, and Vlada Haggerty have individually portrayed their own idea of the "dangerous woman." Throughout history, masks and makeup have been used as a show of individuality and strength. Whether it be a night out in the city, or preparation for battle, masks allow one to protect, and project, their dominance. This modern day camouflage is explored in the works of all three artists, using common motifs such as glitter, color and form.
Pop Tarts will be on view from November 4th – December 1st, 2017, with an opening reception on November 4th from 6-9pm. The opening reception will include a silent auction to benefit Broadway Cares, with donations from both the artists and Smashbox Cosmetics.
