The Juxtapoz Clubhouse Opening

Arriving early always has its perks! As events are just starting to warm up in Miami, FL Wednesday night was the opening of the Juxtapoz Clubhouse, part of the Art Basel 2017 happenings. A new downtown location and a space to die for combined to create one of those moments in time that only seem to happen at Basel.

First stop, make your own FREE t-shirts! With dozens of different iron-on designs to choose from, no two t-shirts were the same, and the line never dwindled all night long.

And then of course it was time to look at all the art! Station 16 Gallery, Jonathan LeVine Projects, Good Mother Gallery and many others brought together a unique blend of art, and artists creating one of the best displays in years of modern street, contemporary and urban art styles. Out of every corner of the eye there was something to catch and hold your attention.

So much eye candy! Let's get started...

Some of the standouts of the evening included a life size, interactive laundromat made entirely of denim!

British artist, Ian Lee

Canadian artist, Stikki Peaches

Super Chief Gallery from NYC pulled out all the stops with their Unlimited Freek out UFO907 installation.

Berlin based artist, James Bullough went interactive and created a one of a kind dart board ready for action.

Shepard Fairey created an old fashion newsstand distributing copies of his newspaper parody "Damaged Times", packed with artwork by Shepard, and articles about current world topics.

But this fan-geek's favorite? It had to be the unique one-of-a-kind dinnerware by Canadian artist, Marie-Claude Marquis. Probably the best wedding gift out there.

Last night was one of those magical nights that seem to happen every year at Basel. If you ever wanted to meet a legend in the game, or an up-and-comer blazing a trail, this is your annual opportunity. Big dysfunctional family, check! Family reunion time 2017!!!
