eL Seed Perception Book, $695
Perception is a personal account of eL Seed’s most ambitious artwork – an anamorphic mural spanning 50 buildings in Cairo’s Manshiyat Nasr district. The book recounts the artist’s story, several interviews with members of the neighborhood, and hundreds of photographs charting the extraordinary process from planning to completion.
The first 500 copies are limited editions, which include an insert of recycled paper manufactured in community and are housed in a hand-painted sleeve by the artist himself. Each cover is a fragment of the mural and together; they create the complete mural as it stands in Cairo.
Part of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to the Manshiyat Nasr community. The funds will go towards sourcing materials for the school inside the neighborhood or for other charities set up within the district.
