Amsterdam Whitney Gallery is pleased to announce 'Blended' a cross-media group exhibition curated by Denise Cummings. Featuring a compelling fusion of pop art, street art, and mixed media collage work, 'Blended' embodies the evolving definition of "fine art" in modern times, reflecting on the new model for the contemporary art world. The exhibiting artists include Hektad, Robert Mars, Biaggio, RiiisaBoogie, Pitch Black, SFGrajales, Rezones, Wilfredo Feliciano, and Michele Allgood, as well as the curator herself.

"In curating this show, I chose a cross-disciplinary approach to capture the eclectic fusion of art-forms that has made its way into fine art galleries. Non-traditional means of creative expression such as graffiti, collaging, and new media art have become quintessential to the art market and global pop culture." explains curator Denise Cummings. "'Blended' is all about blurring the lines between methodology and embracing a new fusion of ideas. We are leaving labels at the door and expanding on what it means to be a contemporary fine artist."

'Blended' serves as the curatorial debut for Cummings, and signals a new direction for Whitney Amsterdam Gallery. For the opening on Saturday, March 23rd, there will be a gala champagne reception at 3-5pm.

'Blended' will be on view through May 1st. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11am-5pm and by private appointment.

Denise Cummings expresses human sexuality and human behavior as powerful, beautiful and passionate in her mix media floral abstracts. A former Ford model and certified horticulturalist, her art is a culmination of stylized beauty as she plays with paper. A paper expert, she had designed and founded a line of handmade paper which was sold in Barneys, Fred Segal and The Museum of Natural History.
