The Storefront Project, 70 Orchard St, NYC
OF WOMEN, BY WOMEN runs from December 12 - 22nd, 2019 at The Storefront Project, 70 Orchard Street NYC. This thematic group exhibition features original artwork by 18 contemporary artists whose work can be seen in public spaces throughout NYC and around the world over the last decade.
In addition to the opening night reception, The Storefront Project will host a panel discussion with 3 of the women on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 'Of Women, By Women: The End of a Decade'. Come listen to a panel discussion with Chinon Maria, La Femme Cheri and Isabelle Ewing, where they will speak about the close of a decade of women in street art; moderated by Sold Magazine's Editor, Erica Stella.
Street art is an inclusive medium that allows these artists the freedom to explore their points of view and engage directly with the community. Their unique stories are shared with the public through provocative and impactful imagery that can spark curiosity and inspiration, promote activism and sometimes just makes people smile. Whether street or fine art, their narratives embody a deeply personal and fundamentally female perspective.
At tonight's discussion, attendees will learn more about each of these artists, as they share stories of their experiences working on the streets, and finding their way to be a successful artist in NYC today. What does the next decade hold for these 3 women? Come out tonight to hear the answer.
