Sold's Stack of Books: Creatopia by Vexx.

2020 is the year that no one planned for or will ever forget. One thing that helped us through the beginning of quarantine was coloring. With its very soothing effect, it was a relieving escape that helped us refocus our minds for a few moments throughout the day. We can continue to create in a calming way with the new coloring book by the artist Vexx. "Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my first worldwide published coloring book, Creatopia," said Vexx.

Vexx is one of the most successful visual artists on social media today. If you tune into his YouTube channel (that has millions of subscribers and even more page views), you'll be instantly entertained by the unconventional ways he creates. Vexx has made art out of hundreds of thousands of Legos, dominos, magnets and beads and has finger painted an entire wall of his house. He's even custom painted the most expensive pair of sneakers; the Nike MAG, self-lacing shoes that sell for up to $60,000.

He is also a street artist and muralist. We first saw Vexx's work in Brooklyn last Summer for the Bushwick Collective and a collaboration he did with Jason Naylor at Leslie's Kitchen. Whether on the streets or virtually, this 22 year old Belgian artist is used to sharing his art with his fans. His work can now be explored and enjoyed in a whole new way, through the coloring book titled, "Creatopia" (Published by tarcherperigee, an imprint of Pengiun Random House.) Each page is an opportunity for you to create along with Vexx and are single-sided, so there's no risk of your colors bleeding through. The coloring book features his signature style of realism and a collection of cute characters, but also includes pages that encourage you to explore your artistic abilities and add your own designs to the pages.

"The times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world," said Vexx. "What's important is that we just keep creating."
